Party in Pink!

What a day – what a party we had!! Great friends, good food, and wonderful weather—couldn’t ask for much more.

Sooo, a few weeks ago, I wanted to get a gathering together, for lots of reasons….absolutely to reaffirm my conscious battle to slay the monster—this illness really has a tendency to put things in a different prospective….I mean, it really makes you appreciates the small bits……Soooo, in celebrating a happy Sunday with a very Happy group!! And also did the Grand Opening of a bottle of wine that has been cellared for almost 20 years!!  This bottle, is a commitment, 9 liters, that is a full case of wine in one bottle, Orfila 1997 Ambassador’s Reserve Merlot.   And we did not have a problem finishing it!

Check out all the cool things that everyone wrote on the bottle (fun iPhone pano photo of the bottle as we spun it around)

We have journeyed, have traveled, have started down the path with sooo many friends and family.  So we know that this is no sunny drive in the afternoon, sorta ride, it is a balls to the walls drag race, and though we slipped up this sloppy slope, we are going to be doing it together, Randy and I and my boys and their girls and all my other peeps!!!

I had such a Kick Ass kind of Sunday, yesterday:  Number 1–the party was at home, and when I did get tired and needed a catnap, I got to take it.  Number 2—A great gathering of family and friends, that was crazy exciting , much pink hair was blossoming (Thanks Elisa!!- you had it all-2 kinds of hair dye: hair dye for a day color or up to two weeks of the pink) All in all just a fabulous day!!  Number 3–You know, one of those days that you take stock of the people in your life, that love and spiritual connection that sometimes takes place ……yesterday, was one of those days!!

So to have a wonderful day to celebrate our anniversary—35 years!!  Who would have thought it!!

And my heart feels happy!

  2. In Brazil we usually say… we do not marry just the man (in this case Brian 🙂 ), we also get married with all the family! I remember the exactly moment I felt in love for the Smerik family…Thanksgiving in the desert on Nov 2013! That trip showed me a little bit more about each one of you and made me wish to be part of the gang! I was able to see how Peggy and Mary were dedicate and practical in preparing our food…how amazing was to notice that they were so open and funny!! Peggy showed me how strong but also how kind she was! A mix of strength, determination, sweetness and craziness! 🙂 haha ..one of my first thoughts were: ” wow… if I got married with Brian…my baby will have a f* crazy grandmother!Coolllll!!!” hahaha
Since then, your energy, spontaneity and passion for fun have been inspirational for me! Your idea to invite friends on this Sunday, after days of dealing with pain, shows to all of us how to combat our “monsters”: gratitude, happiness…and PINK!!! You were, you are and will be forever an inspiration for me! Love you sooo much!

PINK FOR PEGGY in the hair and in the heart!!! 🙂
